Training on Improving Labor and Social Standards of Female Employees

We Value Our Women

In order to support women in Milteks Group companies in Turkey and with the encouragement of Puma SAFE, we started to think about women’s empowerment opportunities, especially in the Georgia region. With the help of the Heinrich Boll Stiftung South Caucasus we met the Instructors from the neighboring town.

Our aim is to develop an empowerment project that helps women against gender-based violence, including legal aid from NGOs and other relevant organisations. We informed our female employees about the project and organized training on a group basis. It’s not just voluntary.

The reason we chose group work is because it is based on legal knowledge, society, friends, etc. The possibility that a lack of education may be an obstacle for many women to participate in education, many women think that confidential things should be kept confidential if it is going to violate their rights. In addition, there are no men and management in the trainings.

We started the project in July 2015 together with the NGO “Women for Regional Development”. The main purpose of the training is to develop legal knowledge about preventing violence against women, to provide information about the role of women in patriarchal culture and forms of gender-related violence, traditions and social habits. We want women workers to feel more secure and protected.
